The Land Rover Discovery Lineup for 2023 will include a new Metropolitan Edition

  • With a starting price of $76,600, the Land Rover Discovery's new Metropolitan Edition will be positioned above the current top-of-the-line R-Dynamic HSE model.
  • Among its standard features are 22-inch alloy wheels, a head-up display, and a third row that can be folded down with ease.
  • There are some specification improvements for the lesser Discoveries as well, but the base price has increased by $2700.

Since the introduction of the more obviously rugged Defender, the Land Rover Discovery has appeared a little out of place. The Defender, on the other hand, appears to better exemplify the British brand's go-anywhere credentials while also providing an impressively refined driving experience. Despite this, Land Rover is not giving up on its more traditional three-row vehicle, with the Discovery receiving a new top-of-the-line version, the Metropolitan Edition, to complement its existing models.

The Metropolitan Edition, which sits above the existing Discovery R-Dynamic HSE, receives a number of visual upgrades to signal its position at the top of the tree, including bright detailing on its radiator grille and the word "DISCOVERY" on the leading edge of the hood, as well as silver bumper inserts, 22-inch diamond-turned gloss gray alloy wheels, and black brake calipers.

Additionally, a head-up display, a heated steering wheel, and power operated third row seating are included as standard equipment in the Metropolitan trim level. Land Rover has also increased the standard equipment on its lower-end Discovery models, with wireless charging, heated front seats, adaptive cruise control, and a Meridian audio system now available on all models. The P300 entry-level model will now have a base price of $57,950, which is a $2700 increase over the previous base price of the P300.

A stronger 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine with 335 horsepower will be the only option for the Metropolitan Edition, which will also be available in a hybrid configuration and will have an 8200-pound towing capacity thanks to 48-volt hybrid assistance. The new model has a starting price of $76,600 and is currently available for order.
